VOV.VN - The Quang Tri Border Guard, in coordination with the provincial Police’s Immigration Management Division, on October 1 deported nine Lao nationals who had illegally entered Vietnam.

Authorities earlier discovered Ho Van Ngheo, 39, transporting two Lao nationals without identity documents in A Bung village, La Lay commune. An urgent search of his residence uncovered seven other Lao nationals who also lacked identity documents and the required immigration documents.

As the investigation was expanded, the La Lay International Border Gate Border Guard Station temporarily detained Ho Thi Khanh, 30, a resident of Hue city, and Ho Thi A Ut, 37, a resident of Quang Tri province, to clarify their roles in the case.

During questioning, the individuals admitted to organising and guiding the Lao nationals to illegally enter Vietnam in search of employment in Ho Chi Minh City.

The La Lay International Border Gate Border Guard Station has initiated a criminal case into the organisation of illegal entry and exit for others.

The nine Lao nationals were handed over to the provincial Police’s Immigration Management Division for further handling in accordance with regulations.
