The Minister made the statement during a reception in Hanoi for outgoing RoK Ambassador, Choi Young Sam, who came to present his farewells at the end of his diplomatic term in Vietnam. On this occasion, Minister Le Hoai Trung presented the Insignia "For the Cause of Vietnam's Diplomacy" to the Ambassador in recognition of his contributions to bilateral ties.

At the reception, Minister Le Hoai Trung congratulated Ambassador Choi on successfully completing his term and highly valued his active, proactive contributions to promoting cooperative relations between Vietnam and the RoK.

Reviewing outstanding achievements during the Ambassador's tenure, the Minister highlighted the regular exchange of high-level delegations that has strengthened political trust. The RoK has maintained its position as one of Vietnam's leading economic partners, while people-to-people exchanges have continued to expand. Both sides have also closely cooperated and supported each other at regional and international forums, contributing to maintaining regional and global peace, stability, cooperation, and development.

Congratulating Ambassador Choi on receiving the Insignia, Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized that the prestigious award recognizes the Ambassador’s sentiments and contributions to bilateral relations.

The Minister outlined key orientations to advance relations in the coming period, welcoming the RoK's agreement to accompany Vietnam in its new development phase. He expressed confidence that with his extensive experience, deep understanding, and affection for Vietnam, Ambassador Choi will continue to support and promote substantive, effective, and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations in his future positions.

For his part, Ambassador Choi Young Sam thanked Minister Le Hoai Trung and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their continuous support and close coordination, which enabled him to successfully fulfill his duties.

The Ambassador expressed his delight at witnessing and contributing to the advancement of the Vietnam-RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Sharing his positive impressions of Vietnam's land, people, and socio-economic progress, Ambassador Choi affirmed that Vietnam has become a leading partner for the RoK in implementing its regional foreign policy, and that the RoK stands as a trusted partner for Vietnam across multiple sectors.

Ambassador Choi pledged his continued active support for bilateral relations in any future capacity after returning home.
