VOV.VN - Vietnam and China are looking to translate high-level shared understandings into concrete results while expanding exchanges on governance, high-quality human resources, talent development, tourism, cultural industries, health care and other areas of shared interest.

The priorities were discussed by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei during their meeting in Hanoi on August 20.

Tra reaffirmed that Vietnam consistently regards developing relations with China as a top priority in its overall foreign policy. She expressed hope that the two sides would continue strengthening the foundations of their relationship and expanding cooperation in areas aligned with their respective development needs.

Amid rapid and unpredictable developments in the regional and international environment, she suggested, the two sides should continue effectively implementing important common understandings reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and countries, thereby strengthening practical cooperation.

She called for closer coordination in implementing agreed areas, more frequent exchanges at various levels and greater effectiveness across sectors, helping both sides pursue their respective development goals.

A key area highlighted by the Deputy Prime Minister was greater exchange and sharing of development experience. Vietnam wants to learn more from China’s experience in organisational reform, developing high-quality human resources, attracting and leveraging talent, tourism, cultural industries and healthcare, including traditional medicine, as well as other social sectors.

Tra spoke highly of China’s development achievements, saying the two sides could further share lessons and practical experience in the course of their own development.

He Wei, for his part, said Vietnam-China relations are in a period of positive development, marked by close high-level contacts, practical cooperation in many areas and increasingly vibrant people-to-people exchanges.

Trade, investment and tourism between the two countries are growing strongly, he noted, adding that China is ready to work with Vietnam to strengthen mutual exchanges and learn from each other’s development experience, contributing to development in both countries and bringing tangible benefits to their people.

The ambassador also congratulated Vietnam on its development achievements and ongoing reforms, saying China stands ready to continue coordinating with Vietnam in the period ahead.
