As part of the opening activities of Miss World 2026 in Quang Ninh, pageant organisers and contestants took part in the Give a Smile, Spread Love community activity at the Quang Ninh Social Assistance Centre on August 9.

During the programme, organisers and contestants presented 75 gift packages worth a total of VND200 million to children being cared for at the centre. The contestants also spent time talking with the children and encouraging them to be more confident in their studies and everyday lives.

Welcoming organisers and contestants, Nguyen Minh Tuan, deputy director of the Quang Ninh Department of Health, expressed his delight that the contestants have made time during their pageant journey to visit the centre, meet the children and present them with meaningful gifts.

The activity also gave the contestants an opportunity to learn more about community life in Quang Ninh, a locality known not only for its rich natural landscapes and distinctive cultural heritage, but also for its efforts to promote social welfare, including the care and protection of children.

At the event, Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata extended greetings to the delegates, organisers and children at the centre, thanking Vietnam and Quang Ninh province for their warm welcome to organisers and contestants of Miss World 2026.

Opal Suchata said she was delighted to take part in a meaningful charitable activity during the first days of the competition in Quang Ninh. Drawing on her experience in humanitarian projects supporting children, women and people facing difficult circumstances in various countries, the reigning Miss World emphasised the importance of caring for, encouraging and inspiring those going through hardship.

According to her, timely encouragement can help people become more confident, dare to dream and work to turn their aspirations into reality.

Miss World 2025 also said the activity in Quang Ninh helped convey the message of Miss World that beauty should be connected with humanitarian values and positive contributions to the community.

She expected that in the coming days in Quang Ninh and Vietnam, the contestants would have many more opportunities to discover the landscapes and culture, meet the people and join hands in spreading positive things.

Give a Smile, Spread Love is one of the community activities being held during the opening days of Miss World 2026 in Quang Ninh, reflecting the spirit of “Beauty With A Purpose”, one of the core values championed by the pageant.

More than a charitable activity, the programme also marked the beginning of the Miss World 2026 contestants’ journey of discovering Vietnam. In the coming days, the contestants will take part in a range of cultural, tourism and community activities in Quang Ninh before continuing to other localities as part of the pageant.
