Mid-Autumn festival art program and bazaar connect Vietnam-China cultural ties
VOV.VN - The Mid-Autumn Festival art program "Under the Same Moon" and bazaar will introduce experiences in cuisine, intangible heritage, photography, and cultural products from Vietnam and China's Yunnan province on the evening of September 21 at Ho Guom Opera House in Hanoi.
The program is part of the "Mid-Autumn Culture Comes to Vietnam 2026" series of activities organized by a delegation from Yunnan province, China, in Vietnam from September 20 to 22.
According to the schedule, the activities on the evening of September 21 include the Mid-Autumn art program "Under the Same Moon - Shimmering Full Moon - Deep Neighborly Affection" and the Mid-Autumn bazaar "Moon Illuminating Lancang - Mekong, a River of Amity."
The bazaar space is built with cultural experience activities between Yunnan (China) and Vietnam, using the "moon" as a connecting point and focusing on cuisine, intangible cultural heritage techniques, landscapes, and local specialties from both sides.
In the culinary area, the program introduces dishes and beverages such as Yunnan green moss sticky rice, Yunnan coffee, Vietnamese shrimp cakes, coconut rolled cakes, along with snacks and characteristic Mid-Autumn dishes.
Another area is dedicated to products and activities associated with intangible heritage. According to the organizational plan, attendees can explore textile products made from coffee grounds by the Wa people, experience making bookmarks through gold-leaf foil techniques, view ceramic mosaic art, cultural creative products, Vietnamese lacquer paintings, and various other exhibition and interactive formats.
The organizing board also arranges a check-in zone and interactive activities such as painting traditional non la (conical hat) and the "Moonlight Postcard" to record and audio-record Mid-Autumn wishes. These spaces are connected through a "Taste - Experience - Interact" chain.
Additionally, the Yunnan-Vietnam tourism photography exhibition is featured. The "Sharing the Same Landscape Frame" section introduces images of landscapes, heritage, and customs from both regions, including the Red River basin, terraced rice fields, and karst topography.
The section "Co-creating the World Heritage Tourism Plan" utilizes selected sketches from signature heritage elements of Yunnan and Vietnam. Vietnamese artists perform the initial creation, after which guests can participate in coloring during activities in Ninh Binh and Hanoi.
This year's activities also include the cultural and tourism promotion program "World Heritage Tourism Plan - A Cup of Coffee to Admire Scenic Spots: Yunnan (China) and Vietnam Beating as One in Ninh Bình," held on September 20 at the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex in Ninh Bình province.
On September 21 in Hanoi, the youth exchange program "Each Generation Has Its Own Long March" took place. The program is expected to feature stories from representatives of both countries across various fields, aiming at exchanges among the younger generation, alongside book-exchange activities.
On September 22, the Yunnan delegation is scheduled to work with the Department of International Cooperation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Journalists Association. According to the plan, the working session with the Vietnam Journalists Association covers discussions on press cooperation between Yunnan and Vietnam.
