Top Vietnamese legislator visits President Ho Chi Minh-named school in Mongolia
VOV.VN - National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man and his spouse visited School No. 14 named after President Ho Chi Minh in Ulan Bator on the afternoon of September 9 local time, as part of his official visit to Mongolia.
Tran Thanh Man, his spouse, and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation offered flowers at the monument of President Ho Chi Minh and toured the Ho Chi Minh Traditional Room on the school campus.
Writing in the guestbook, the top legislator noted that School No. 14 is one of Mongolia's premier incubators of talent. He affirmed that the school bearing the name of the beloved leader of the Vietnamese nation, alongside the monument and the traditional room, serves as a vivid and noble symbol of traditional friendship, solidarity, and close bond between the people of Vietnam and Mongolia.
He praised the efforts of the school board and teachers in educating young generations of Mongolia on President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and great cause, while preserving and spreading Vietnamese culture and friendship across generations of students.
Welcoming the delegation, Mongolian students dressed in traditional Mongolian and Vietnamese attire performed cultural numbers highlighting the traditional cultural identities of both countries.
Speaking at the event, the NA leader highlighted that President Ho Chi Minh was the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, a national liberation hero, and an outstanding cultural celebrity who dedicated his life to national liberation, independence, and freedom for Vietnam. He recalled that in July 1955, President Ho Chi Minh paid an official visit to Mongolia, marking the first visit by a Vietnamese leader to the country and laying a crucial foundation for bilateral friendship and cooperation.
On behalf of the Party, State, and National Assembly of Vietnam, Man hailed the achievements attained by the teachers and students, which greatly contribute to deepening mutual understanding and trust, particularly following the upgrade of bilateral ties to a comprehensive partnership during General Secretary and State President To Lam's state visit to Mongolia in September 2024.
Quoting Mongolian proverbs on learning and teachers, he encouraged the teachers to continuously improve their professional capacity and innovate teaching methods to inspire patriotism among students. He urged the students to practice and spread the "Five Teachings of Uncle Ho," study diligently, and strive to become elite citizens who contribute to Mongolia's prosperity and the development of the Vietnam-Mongolia comprehensive partnership.
Man expressed his hope that the Mongolian Government and the municipal administration of Ulan Bator will continue to facilitate the school's efforts to enhance education quality, align with the "Vision 2050" educational targets, and remain a fine symbol of bilateral friendship.
To support teaching and learning activities for the 2026-2027 academic year, he presented US$10,000 to the school for teaching equipment procurement.
Established in 1949, School No. 14 was granted permission to bear the name of President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of his 90th birth anniversary. The school's monument and traditional room were inaugurated in 2009 and 2017, respectively. The school regularly organizes activities to honor President Ho Chi Minh, hosts painting and writing contests about Vietnam, and collaborates closely with the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia.
