Russian President welcomes top leader To Lam on state visit
VOV.VN - Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted a state welcome ceremony for General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam, his spouse, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation in the Kremlin, Moscow, on the afternoon of September 9 local time, during his state visit to Russia.
The motorcade carrying the Vietnamese leader and his spouse entered the Kremlin. President Vladimir Putin greeted them warmly upon their arrival at St. George's Hall. The military band played the national anthems of Vietnam and Russia, after which the two leaders introduced their respective official delegations.
Following the ceremony, the two leaders held talks, witnessed the exchange of cooperation documents, and met with the press.
Vietnam and Russia have maintained a traditional friendship nurtured over 75 years. Bilateral political relations feature high trust and close coordination at multilateral forums. Regular high-level exchanges propel the comprehensive strategic partnership forward, while scientific and technological cooperation is reinforced as a new pillar. The Vietnamese community in Russia actively contributes to bilateral ties.
The state visit affirms Vietnam's unwavering foreign policy valuing the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, while demonstrating an independent, self-reliant, multilateralized, and diversified foreign policy.
It aims to mobilize resources in energy, technology, and training to support sustainable national growth, while setting a long-term vision to elevate bilateral relations in the new period.
