Party Secretariat's member pays tribute to President Ho Chi Minh in Singapore
VOV.VN - Politburo member and standing member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, led a high-level CPV delegation to lay flowers in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his statue and memorial marker within the Asian Civilisations Museum on the afternoon of August 24 as part of his official visit to Singapore
Tran Cam Tu and his delegation offered flowers and observed a minute of silence in deep memory of President Ho Chi Minh's immense contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. They pledged to continue studying and following his ideology, morality, and lifestyle, striving to build a prosperous Vietnam standing shoulder to shoulder with global powers as wished by the late leader.
The statue of President Ho Chi Minh, alongside those of other prominent Asian leaders and figures, is prominently displayed in the spacious area of the Asian Civilisations Museum, illustrating historical connections among Asian cultures and between Asia and the world.
In May 2008, marking the 118th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh and the 35th anniversary of Vietnam-Singapore diplomatic relations, the National Heritage Board of Singapore inaugurated the memorial marker.
Subsequently, friends of Vietnam at the board, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, and the Ho Chi Minh Museum initiated the idea of placing a statue alongside the marker, which was installed in September 2011.
