Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung meets French counterpart
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung met with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot on September 10 on the occasion of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Party Central Committee and President To Lam's official visit to France.
FM Le Hoai Trung thanked the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its close and effective coordination with Vietnamese agencies in preparing for the visit, thus contributing to its overall success.
He highly valued the respectful and warm reception extended by France to the Vietnamese leader and his high-ranking delegation. Reaffirming Vietnam's prioritization of its relations with France as a leading partner in Europe and in the international arena, the Vietnamese diplomat expressed his desire for both sides to continue working closely to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a substantive and effective manner, matching the two countries' potentials and developmental needs in the new era.
Building on bilateral cooperation orientations, the two ministers agreed that their respective ministries must fulfill their coordinating roles by actively urging ministries and sectors to efficiently implement high-level commitments, particularly the Joint Statement and the Vietnam-France Action Plan for 2026-2028, generating clear progress across priority fields.
On this occasion, FM Le Hoai Trung respectfully invited his French counterpart to visit Vietnam at a convenient time to further discuss concrete measures aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and coordination between the two foreign ministries.
The two diplomats also exchanged views on regional and international issues of shared concern, including the situations in the Middle East, Ukraine, and the East Sea. They concurred on the importance of promoting multilateral cooperation and upholding international law.
