During the meeting, Under-Secretary-General and High Representative Miguel Ángel Moratinos expressed profound appreciation for Vietnam's responsible contributions as a member of the Group of Friends of UNAOC.

UNAOC is actively implementing practical programs across four core pillars: youth, education, public diplomacy, and migration. In particular, the High Representative shared an initiative titled "Call for Peace, Ending War, and Respecting International Law," aimed at enhancing  substantive and sincere dialogue, while expressing his desire for Vietnam to consider hosting a UNAOC conference in 2027.

FM Le Hoai Trung affirmed that as a nation with a history and tradition tied to the aspiration for peace, Vietnam always values the efforts of the UN in general and UNAOC in particular in promoting dialogue, mutual respect, solidarity, and the peaceful resolution of differences. 

The FM emphasized that Vietnam is entering a new era of development, steadfastly pursuing an independent, self-reliant, and resilient foreign policy. As an active and responsible member of the international community, the country welcomes peace initiatives and will assign relevant agencies to study the aforementioned proposal by UNAOC.
