BRICS must forge new, inclusive, and sustainable growth drivers: PM Hung
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Le Minh Hung addressed the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 13, calling on the group to enhance economic resilience and forge new growth drivers for sustainable development.
Speaking at the session themed "Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainable Development: Shaping the Future of Global Inclusive Growth," PM Le Minh Hung proposed a shift from reactive shock management to proactive economic resilience. He urged BRICS to revitalize traditional growth drivers while creating new, inclusive, and sustainable ones through streamlined trade and investment policy coordination, market openness, and enhanced access to green and digital financing for developing nations.
The Vietnamese Government leader also emphasized the need to turn scientific and technological cooperation into concrete projects through joint research, workforce training, and technology transfer in artificial intelligence, digital technology, smart agriculture, and clean energy.
The summit brought together heads of state, government leaders, and representatives from partner countries and international organizations to discuss global governance reform, regional stability, and sustainable economic growth across political, security, economic, financial, and cultural pillars. Leaders also underscored the necessity of ensuring energy market stability, maintaining uninterrupted energy flows from diverse sources, and protecting critical energy infrastructure.
Highlighting Vietnam's development orientation centered on people, institutional reform, modern governance, and science and technology, PM Hung affirmed Vietnam's readiness to cooperate with BRICS members in shaping an equitable, peaceful, and prosperous future.
