Cold weather in Hanoi worsens traffic jams, especially during peak hours during the morning in many typical hotspots around the capital, including Tran Duy Hung street, Minh Khai street, and Nguyen Trai street.

Slow traffic hits the Tran Duy Hung-Hoang Dao Thuy intersection.

A queue of vehicles is left at a standstill amid the cold weather and rain.

Similar traffic jams can be seen on Hoang Minh Giam street.

At 8 a.m. on Xuan Thuy street, people must wrap themselves up to cope with the chilly weather and downpour.

Many drivers take measures to escape the traffic by traveling on pavements.

Some people even travel in the opposite direction, thereby making the traffic even more chaotic.

Huy Hoang of Cau Giay district shares that he feels tired whilst traveling on a three-km road from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on April 8.

Those major streets connecting Dong Da and Thanh Xuan districts with several intersections and roundabout are packed with heavy traffic, especially at the O Cho Dua Roundabout.
