VOV.VN - Artisans from Cuor Dang commune reenacted the Ede ethnic group's traditional new-rice ritual at the Dak Lak Museum on the morning of September 26 during the 9th gong cultural performance program themed "Aspiration for Prosperity," featuring ritual ceremonies alongside gong performances, ethnic musical instruments, folk singing, and Xoang dancing.
Artisans prepare offerings, including a chicken and a jar of traditional wine (can wine) as ritual items, for the reenactment of the Ede ethnic group's traditional new-rice ritual, known as Hma Ngat, at the Dak Lak Museum.Artisan Y Kruh Nie from Ho village performs the ritual ceremony.Before the offerings, artisan Y Kruh Nie prays to thank the deities following the harvest and to invoke abundance for the next season.The artisan sprinkles wine to bestow blessings within the reenacted space of an Ede traditional longhouse.Following the ritual, young women pour water into the jar of traditional wine (can wine), while inviting guests to share in the celebration.Hosts and guests enjoy can wine together during the feast celebrating the new-rice harvest.Participants are adorned with copper bracelets and receive health blessings from the ritual performer.Alongside the reenactment of the new-rice ritual, artisans from Cuor Dang commune and the provincial Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe perform folk songs and traditional musical instruments.Artisans and visitors join in a Xoang dance circle during the performance of the song "Con thuong nhau thi ve Buon Ma Thuot" (Returning to Buon Ma Thuot if we still care for each other), bringing the program to a close.
