VOV.VN - More than 15,000 military and police personnel participated in a large-scale combined rehearsal on July 17, marking a key preparation milestone ahead of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day on September 2.

Addressing the event, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, chief of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA)'s General Staff and Deputy Minister of National Defence, says the military parade this time will be deployed on land, in the air, and at sea, with the participation of ground marching units, motorized formations, an air force flyover, and a naval component featuring submarines, and surface vessels.

From early in the morning, participants are deployed from the armed forces, including military units, as well as public security officers and soldiers. They are divided into 43 marching units and 18 static contingents, totalling 15,600 people.

For the first time in 40 years since the National Day celebration on September 2, 1985, the parade features military vehicles and specialized police vehicles as part of the formation.

Modern main battle tanks such as the T-62 and T-90S known for their strong firepower, maneuverability, and battlefield effectiveness participate in the rehearsal.

The armored corps leads the motorised segment, showcasing their historic victories from the battles of Ta May and Lang Vay to major campaigns in Laos and the Central Highlands.

The S-125-VT air defence missile system, a modernised Vietnamese version, demonstrates enhanced mobility and combat capability.

Strategic and operational-level mobile communication vehicles are featured, equipped with advanced high-tech systems supporting secure multi-service communications that are crucial for modern combat and field exercises.

The electronic warfare unit, equipped with cutting-edge technology, showcases capabilities for digital and technical combat.

The People’s Public Security force also marches in formation, led by a traffic command convoy vehicle.
