On March 13, 1954, the Vietnamese revolutionary army launched its first attack against the French colonialists’ heavily fortified base of Dien Bien Phu, starting a historic 56-day campaign. The victory directly led to the signing of the Geneva Accords on ending the war and restoring peace in Indochina.

The parade will serve as the highlight among a series of activities to be held to mark the victory anniversary. It will affirm the significance and historical value of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the overall development of the Vietnam People's Army.
