The third competition night of DIFF 2026 promises one of the festival’s most highly anticipated contests, featuring two renowned names in the global fireworks industry: Japan’s Tamaya Kitahara Fireworks and Italy’s Martarello Group S.L.R.

Japan’s performance immerses audiences in the spirit of Wabi-sabi, a philosophy that finds beauty in subtlety, balance and fleeting moments. Its signature Nishiki Kamuro fireworks blossom repeatedly overhead, forming graceful cascades of golden light that flows like silk ribbons through the night sky, evoking the elegance and cultural identity of the Land of the Rising Sun.

The strength of Japan’s performance lies in its seamless fusion of music and fireworks. Familiar melodies including New Genesis, Always With Me and themes from Ryomaden carry audiences through a range of emotions as the pyrotechnic display unfolded in perfect harmony with the soundtrack.

As the curtain falls on DIFF 2026’s “Culture” night, Japan and Italy create a captivating dialogue of light across Da Nang’s skyline. Though rooted in different cultural traditions, both performances impress with their creativity, artistic storytelling and emotional depth, making it one of the festival’s most unforgettable competition nights.
