Hanoi exhibition honours legacy of Vietnam’s revolutionary press

VOV.VN - A special exhibition titled "Steel Pen, Loyal Heart" highlighting the history and legacy of Vietnam’s revolutionary press opened at the Hoa Lo Prison Relic Site in Hanoi on June 16 to mark the 101st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925–2026).

The exhibition honours journalists and revolutionaries who, despite imprisonment by colonial and imperialist forces, upheld their integrity and continued to publish newspapers in the service of their cause.

The exhibition is divided into two parts, covering historical milestones and the lives of prominent Vietnamese journalists and revolutionaries.

The first part presents images showcasing the country's press during the two wars of resistance against French colonialism and American imperialism.

After more than a century of formation and development, Vietnam’s revolutionary press has left a profound legacy, affirming its enduring bond with the Fatherland and the people.

Many documentaries, photos and items related to the first revolutionary newspapers in the past struggles are on display.

The second part portrays the images of journalists and soldiers who, despite being imprisoned in harsh conditions or fighting on the fierce battlefield, still managed to compile, print, and publish journalistic works.

Despite the lack of material resources, these newspapers were secretly published.

Those stories show the courage and sense of responsibility of journalists.

The images and portraits of journalists and war correspondents featured in the exhibition "Steel Pen, Loyal Heart" have helped viewers gain a better understanding of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.

According to the management board of the Hoa Lo Prison Relic Site, visitors can scan a QR code to listen to commentary on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Many young people are interested in hearing stories about journalism and learning more about Vietnam’s history.

A number of students expressinterest in podcasts featuring content about President Ho Chi Minh.

The exhibition also attracts foreign visitors.

Sunny, a tourist from Australia, shares that she impresses with stories about Vietnamese journalism and is eager to discover the country’s history.

The display offers veterans an opportunity to revisit their memories of the past.
