Torrential rain starting on the night of September 16 has caused widespread flooding, with water levels rising on many streets in Hanoi.

The area near the Xuan Mai apartment complex, beneath the Yen Nghia railway overpass, is inundated, making it difficult for commuters to get through during rush hour.

To Huu Street, connecting Tu Liem Ward and Ha Dong Ward, remains deeply flooded at midday, with the water receding at an exceptionally slow pace.

Floodwaters force long lines of vehicles to wade through the deluge, bringing traffic to a standstill in many areas.

During rush hour, commuters struggle to make their way to work through the flooded areas. Traffic is severely disrupted in parts of the city. In the photo, a section of road near the Tran Duy Hung overpass.

At around 9 a.m. on September 17, Hanoi's streets remain severely congested, with many drivers struggling to reach their workplaces. Traffic jams also persist on Nguyen Trai, Le Van Luong and Tran Duy Hung streets.

Traffic is gridlocked in both directions on Nguyen Trai Street, stretching from the Thanh Xuan underpass to the People's Security Academy.

To Huu Street, at the intersection with Le Van Luong Street, is also flooded and congested from early morning. Many motorbikes break down, forcing riders to stop and make repairs on the spot.

Vehicles move at a snail’s pace in front of My Dinh Stadium and along Le Duc Tho and Le Quang Dao Streets.

Deep flooding has affected a section of Ring Road 3, prompting authorities to put up warning signs at the Mai Dich flyover intersection in Cau Giay Ward.

Heavy rain has continued across northern Hanoi, with rainfall exceeding 150 mm at several monitoring stations, increasing the risk of further flooding.
