Tan Son Nhat Airport schedules 1,063 flights on February 11, including 527 departures and 536 arrivals, up 48 from February 10

This is one of the busiest days at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in the lead-up to the Lunar New Year (Tet)

Total passenger traffic through Tan Son Nhat International Airport is estimated at 160,459 on February 11

Departing passengers total 103,716, mainly on domestic routes with more than 72,000 travellers, while arrivals exceed 56,000 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Heavy pressure is being placed on both the domestic and international terminals at Tan Son Nhat International Airport as travel demand rises sharply toward the year-end holiday period.

Notably, Terminal T3 continues to play a key role in easing pressure across the airport system.

On February 11, Terminal T3 is expected to handle 448 flights, accounting for about 42% of total flights at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, and serve 63,302 passengers.

Specifically, 220 departing flights carrying 43,750 passengers and 228 arriving flights with 19,552 passengers are scheduled to operate at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

The transfer of a large number of flights and passengers to Terminal T3 is expected to help ease congestion at check-in areas, security screening points and baggage claim belts, reduce crowding during peak hours, and improve service quality at the airport.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport set a record of 1,003 flights per day in 2025, the pre-Tet peak during Tet Binh Ngo 2026 is expected to reach more than 1,000 flights per day.

After Tet, traffic on February 22 and 23 (the 6th and 7th days of the first lunar month) is expected to rise to over 1,000 flights per day

Under regulations set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the take-off and landing coordination parameter at Tan Son Nhat International Airport is 48 flights per hour, meaning on average more than one aircraft takes off or lands every minute during peak days.

With Terminal T3 now in operation and six airlines operating from the facility, representatives of Southern Airports Authority advise passengers to check terminal and flight information carefully and arrive at the airport early to avoid delays during the Tet peak at the airport

To avoid heavy congestion at the airport toward the year end, some passengers have chosen to complete work earlier than usual and travel ahead of the Tet peak, adjusting their schedules to reduce the risk of delays.
