Polish food firms reaffirm Vietnam as key Southeast Asian market
VOV.VN - Polish food producers continue to regard Vietnam as one of their priority markets in Southeast Asia, by stepping up trade promotion and business networking efforts to expand exports and capitalise on opportunities offered by the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
The message was delivered at the launch of the Taste Europe campaign and a business networking event in Ho Chi Minh City on August 6 by the Polish Embassy in Vietnam and the promotion centre of the Polish Chamber of Commerce.
Polish Ambassador to Vietnam Joanna Skoczek said the regular presence of Polish businesses in Vietnam reflects their commitment to strengthening commercial cooperation and expanding their footprint in the country's growing market.
She described Southeast Asia as one of Poland's strategic export destinations, with Vietnam standing out because of its large consumer market, strong economic growth and role as a gateway to ASEAN.
A growing range of Polish food products is already available in Vietnam, and companies are looking to broaden their product portfolio and further strengthen their market presence, she said.
The ambassador also noted that expanding trade and investment ties between businesses from the two countries are creating favourable conditions for deeper economic cooperation.
Promoting European food products
As part of the campaign, Polish and European agricultural and food products are being promoted in Vietnam, including fresh, chilled and frozen beef and pork, fresh apples, apple juice and processed apple products.
The programme targets importers, distributors, retailers, hospitality businesses and Vietnamese consumers.
Bozena Wroblewska, president of the promotion centre of the Polish Chamber of Commerce, said the campaign highlights not only the quality of European food products but also food safety standards, traceability and transparent supply chains.
It also provides a platform for businesses from both countries to exchange market information, discuss distribution channels and explore new commercial partnerships.
Expanding trade under EVFTA
Henryk Smolarz, director general of Poland's National Support Centre for Agriculture, noted the agency regularly supports exporters through trade fairs, exhibitions and overseas trade missions to help them access promising markets.
As one of Europe's leading food producers and processors, Poland aims to introduce more high-quality food products to Vietnam while facilitating stronger business links between companies from both countries.
According to Bui Thi Ninh, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI-HCM), 2026 marks the 76th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Poland, while the EVFTA continues to provide favourable conditions for expanding bilateral trade.
She noted that the two economies complement each other, with Poland serving as one of Europe's major food production hubs and Vietnam offering a dynamic consumer market as well as access to ASEAN.
VCCI-HCM pledged to continue supporting businesses from both countries in trade promotion and investment activities, and helping them make full use of opportunities under the EVFTA.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Taste Europe campaign is participating in Vietfood & Beverage – ProPack Vietnam, using the exhibition as a platform to showcase European food products and strengthen business connections with Vietnamese partners.
