Bac Ninh promotes investment at Beijing roundtable
VOV.VN - A roundtable discussion promoting Vietnam-China investment cooperation under the theme "Bac Ninh: Partnering for Development, Shaping the Future" took place in Beijing on August 24, co-hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in China and the northern province of Bac Ninh.
The event gathered nearly 300 representatives from Chinese agencies, business associations, and major corporations.
In his speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh said that Party General Secretary and State President To Lam’s state visit to China in April 2026 laid a solid foundation for investment cooperation. He noted that Vietnam seeks high-tech, high-value-added projects, while Chinese enterprises possess strong capabilities in technology, manufacturing, and new energy, leaving ample room for investment expansion.
Bac Ninh, with its strategic location, synchronized infrastructure, and dynamic policies, serves as a premier destination for Chinese investors.
Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh highlighted the province's goal to become a centrally-run city and a leading national center for semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI).
Bac Ninh recorded GRDP growth of 10.27% in 2025 and 10.56% in the first half of 2026. Home to major global corporations including MCC, Goertek, Luxshare-ICT, and JA Solar, the province currently features 39 industrial parks spanning over 11,300 hectares, with around 600 hectares of cleared industrial land available immediately.
The province is prioritizing investment in five strategic sectors: semiconductors and advanced materials; aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and smart logistics; robotics, AI, and smart manufacturing; pharmaceuticals and biotechnology; and green energy with smart electrical equipment.
Liu Chun, President of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME), affirmed that Bac Ninh is a leading electronics center in northern Vietnam.
He proposed four cooperation areas: strengthening government-to-business mechanisms, expanding partnerships in smart manufacturing and green transition, enhancing legal compliance guidance, and deepening ties with the Vietnamese Embassy and trade organizations to sign future memorandums of understanding.
Closing the event, Secretary of the Bac Ninh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Thai reaffirmed that Bac Ninh regards Chinese enterprises as key partners in its long-term development. He committed that local authorities will support investors throughout project lifecycles and invited Chinese firms to conduct on-site surveys for sustainable collaboration.
On the sidelines of the event, Provincial Party Chief Nguyen Hong Thai held separate working sessions with leadership from CCCME, ZGC Group, and China Highway Design Group to discuss upcoming investment projects in the province.
