Miss Grand International relocates 2027 host country from Vietnam to Thailand
VOV.VN - Miss Grand International (MGI) has announced that its 2027 pageant will be held in Thailand instead of Vietnam as previously planned, marking the 15th anniversary of the contest.
The MGI organization released details regarding next year's schedule On September 29, saying that the milestone 15th edition will return to Thailand, where the pageant originated.
“Thailand is officially the host country of Miss Grand International 2027, as we return to where the journey began for a milestone unlike any other: 15 years of history, 15 years of grand,” MGI stated.
Sen Vang, the copyright holder of Miss Grand Vietnam, confirmed to the media that the 2027 pageant has been relocated to Thailand.
Previously, on July 3, according to Sen Vang CEO Pham Kim Dung, Vietnam will host the 2027 edition, which was expected to take place in September or October 2027 with promotional plans highlighting Vietnam's heritage sites and cultural landscapes.
Miss Grand International, founded by Nawat Itsaragrisil, is one of the world's major beauty pageants. The competition has been hosted in Vietnam twice, in 2017 and 2023.
Meanwhile, the 2026 edition is currently taking place in Thailand, featuring sub-contests such as swimsuit and national costume performances. The semifinal is slated for October 7, followed by the final on October 10. Vietnam is represented at this year's pageant by Emoura Pham.
Born in 2000, Emoura Pham, whose Vietnamese name is Pham Chan Phuong, moved to the United States for high school at age 15 and later studied at Irvine Valley College in California. The Vietnamese representative stands 1.7 meters tall with measurements of 79-59-92 cm.
