Vietnam tourism promoted at MITT travel fair in Moscow, led by Da Nang
VOV.VN - The 32nd International Travel & Hospitality Show (MITT) opened in Moscow on March 11, bringing together tour operators, airlines, hotels and tourism promotion agencies to exchange industry trends and seek cooperation opportunities.
This year’s event drew representatives from 54 regions of Russia and more than 34 countries and territories, including Vietnam, Malaysia, Oman, Bangladesh, Peru, Colombia, Laos, Armenia and Uzbekistan.
Running from March 11 to 13, the fair includes more than 40 thematic discussions with the participation of 265 international speakers. Topics cover digital transformation, sustainable tourism, wellness tourism and the development of new tourism products.
At MITT 2026, the tourism sector of central Da Nang city is taking part in the fair for the first time with a booth to promote the city and expand connections with tourism partners in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
According to Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center and local tourism businesses will hold about 360 B2B meetings with tour operators and travel agencies from Russia and the CIS during the event.
At the fair, Da Nang is presenting its key tourism products, including high-end beach resorts, cultural heritage tourism featuring destinations such as Hoi An and My Son, as well as green tourism products and local cultural experiences.
Data from the Da Nang tourism sector indicate that the city welcomed more than 171,000 Russian visitors in 2025, nearly double the figure recorded a year earlier and placing Russia among the city’s 15 largest international markets. In the first two months of 2026, Russia remained among the top 10 international markets for Da Nang.
Alla, a travel agent in Moscow, said Vietnam has become a popular destination for Russian tourists in recent years because its history and culture differ from those in Russia.
MITT is also regarded as an important networking platform for the tourism industry, where travel companies, airlines, hotels and national tourism promotion agencies build partnerships and boost market expansion.
