Vietnam Airlines secures four titles at 2026 World Travel Awards
VOV.VN - Vietnam Airlines has won four titles at the 2026 World Travel Awards for Asia, Oceania and the Indian Ocean, recognising its customer experience, premium economy service, loyalty programme and inflight magazine.
At the awards ceremony held recently in the Maldives, the national flag carrier of Vietnam was named winner in the four categories: Asia’s Leading Airline – Customer Experience 2026; Asia’s Leading Airline – Premium Economy Class 2026; Asia’s Leading Airline Rewards Programme 2026 for Lotusmiles; and Asia’s Leading Inflight Magazine 2026 for Heritage.
The number of titles won by Vietnam Airlines increased by one from 2025.
In recent years, the airline has focused on enhancing the customer experience across different stages of the journey, from pre-flight services and the airport experience to onboard services.
Its Premium Economy product offers passengers an alternative to Economy Class with a higher level of service. Meanwhile, the Lotusmiles frequent-flyer programme has been adjusted to simplify its rules and make it easier for members to earn and redeem miles and enjoy upgrades.
The awards for Lotusmiles and Heritage build on their previous successes. Lotusmiles has been named Asia's Leading Airline Rewards Programme by the World Travel Awards for the second consecutive year.
Meanwhile, Heritage has won Asia's Leading Inflight Magazine for the third time, following previous titles in 2023 and 2025. Through stories about Vietnam’s culture, people and destinations, the publication introduces the country’s image to passengers travelling on Vietnam Airlines flights.
Dang Anh Tuan, deputy general director of Vietnam Airlines, stressed that the four awards have recognised the carrier's efforts to improve its products, services and customer experience.
The continued recognition, particularly in customer experience categories, would encourage the airline to further enhance its services to better meet the needs of different passenger groups, he said.
The results at the 2026 World Travel Awards dubbed the “Oscars of the travel industry” are expected to provide further impetus for the carrier to continue raising service standards and customer experience as it works towards becoming a five-star airline by 2030.
