Rong May Glass Bridge tourist site to suspend operations from October 1
VOV.VN -The Rong May Glass Bridge tourist site in Vietnam's northern province of Lai Chau is scheduled to suspend operations starting October 1 to ensure visitor safety amid construction concerns nearby.
According to Nguyen Van Huan, a representative of the tourist site, the suspension is prompted by fears that ongoing construction works from an adjacent project could disrupt the ecological landscape and trigger potential landslides, posing safety risks to tourists and property.
Operating since 2019, the tourist site welcomes an average of 300,000 visitors annually and contributes about VND20 billion (approx. US$763,000) to the state budget each year. International travelers account for a significant share of visitors brought by travel agencies.
The planned closure is expected to cause logistical disruptions for tour operators, particularly international itineraries booked months in advance, requiring travel agencies to swiftly revise schedules and arrange alternative destinations.
