Lien Khuong Airport resumes flights after six-month closure for repairs
VOV.VN - Lien Khuong International Airport in Lam Dong Province officially reopened and welcomed its first flights on August 19, following a nearly six-month shutdown for runway and taxiway overhauls.
The provincial People's Committee of Lam Dong, in coordination with the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and the airport authority, hosted the official reopening ceremony as the facility welcomed its first arriving flights.
The reopening was marked by the landing of Vietnam Airlines Flight VN1380 from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat. Upon arrival, the aircraft received a traditional water cannon salute, with provincial leaders greeting the inaugural passengers at the terminal with flowers and souvenirs.
According to ACV, the airport is scheduled to handle 28 domestic flights connecting Da Lat with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang on its first day back in service.
The airport's return to operation is poised to boost connectivity between Lam Dong and major economic and tourism hubs across the country, helping expand markets, attract visitors and investors, and spur regional socio-economic growth.

\The upgrade project had been underway since March 4. Following the overhaul, the airport’s daily capacity is expected to reach 36 to 40 flights, serving around 6,800 passengers and connecting Lam Dong with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Vinh, Can Tho, and Hai Phong, alongside a planned resumption of the Da Lat-Kuala Lumpur international route at eight flights per week.
