Japan promotes incentive travel at Hai Phong tourism seminar
VOV.VN - The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) on September 16 hosted an incentive tourism promotion seminar in Hai Phong City, with hundreds of businesses operating in the tourism sector in attendance.
In her remarks, Matsumoto Fumi, Chief Representative of JNTO in Vietnam, noted that the organisation has previously held tourism promotion seminars mainly in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, making the Hai Phong event its first of its kind in the city.
She noted that Japan is an attractive destination not only for corporate incentive and training trips but also for group tours, package tours and independent travel. The country offers diverse tourism experiences, from natural landscapes and seasonal scenery to history, culture and cuisine.
“Japan is a destination where visitors can discover new experiences and attractions with every visit,” Matsumoto added.
At the seminar, delegates and tourism businesses introduced the latest trends in travel to Japan among Vietnamese tourists. Travel companies also presented new products designed to meet emerging travel demand, with the aim of increasing the number of visitors from Hai Phong to Japan for both incentive trips and leisure travel.
Recognising Hai Phong as a gateway to northern Vietnam with strong tourism potential, JNTO has expanded its tourism promotion activities to the city.
Japan’s incentive tourism offerings have also been diversified to include cultural and culinary experiences, team-building activities and destinations beyond the traditional “Golden Route.”
JNTO, along with Japanese prefectures and cities, also offers support policies for incentive groups, while providing Vietnamese travel agencies with information and promotional resources.
Under the campaign theme “Japan – Infinite Charms, Go to Return,” JNTO Vietnam plans to launch a range of digital and outdoor advertising initiatives in 2026. The campaign will provide Vietnamese travellers with information and inspiration to discover Japan’s diverse regions, cultures, cuisine and local values.
In recent years, Hai Phong has emerged as a major economic hub in northern Vietnam and a key centre for industry and logistics. Fueled by economic growth and rising incomes, the city has significant potential as a market for outbound tourism, with demand for travel to Japan expected to grow strongly in the coming years.
