The route was opened on July 1 and will operate four flights per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The Penang-Hanoi flight departs at 6:15am, while the return leg will lift off at 8:50am on the same days.

AirAsia Head of Commercial Spencer Lee said this is the airline’s seventh route to Penang, noting that the company desires to continue promoting tourism activities between Vietnam and Malaysia, with a focus on connecting Hanoians to international destinations within the airline’s network.

Hanoi is the second city in Vietnam to have opened a direct air route to Penang after HCM City. Passengers booking tickets from July 2 to July 8 will have an opportunity to enjoy discounts of VND1.2 million on one-way tickets (including taxes) for the flight period until the end of January 31, 2019.
