VOV.VN - A 60-member delegation of Myanmar travel companies has surveyed tourism routes and products in Da Nang, seeking opportunities to expand travel cooperation and attract more Myanmar visitors to the central Vietnamese city.

The familiarization trip, or famtrip, was organised on August 19 by Visit Indochina in coordination with the Union of Myanmar Travel Associations and Da Nang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The delegation visited several of Da Nang’s signature attractions and experienced local tourism products, including Linh Ung Pagoda, Han Market and Ba Na Hills, as well as sampling local cuisine.

The group also joined a mini-workshop where the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre introduced key features of the city’s tourism offerings and exchanged information with the participants on tourism connectivity, promotion and destination marketing.

Nguyen Son Thuy, director of Visit Indochina, revealed the participating agencies are among Myanmar’s leading and reputable travel companies. Many of them are also long-standing partners of Visit Indochina, working to bring Myanmar tourists to Vietnam, particularly Da Nang.

He said the famtrip provides an opportunity to showcase Da Nang’s tourism products and signature services to the Myanmar market.

According to Da Nang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Myanmar, an ASEAN country with a population of more than 55 million, shares cultural similarities and close ties with Vietnam, making it a promising market for the city.

In 2025, Da Nang welcomed 32,084 visitors from Myanmar, accounting for 0.42% of total international arrivals. In the first seven months of 2026, the number rose to 39,080, or 0.64% of international arrivals.

Da Nang currently has two direct flights per week from Yangon, providing a convenient connection for travelers from Myanmar and supporting the city’s efforts to attract more visitors from the Southeast Asian market.
