World Federation of Vietnam Vocotruyen elects Nguyen Ngoc Anh as President
VOV.VN - Dr Nguyen Ngoc Anh, president of the Vietnam Federation of Traditional Martial Arts, has been elected President of the World Federation of Vietnam Vocotruyen (WFVV) for the 2026-2031 term.
The election took place at the WFVV General Assembly in Italy on October 1, held as part of the ongoing World Championships and Junior Championships of Vietnam Vocotruyen, or Vietnamese traditional martial arts.
Anh was elected after the WFVV General Assembly selected a new Executive Committee for the 2026-2031 term.
Before the election, members of the WFVV Executive Committee reviewed the federation’s activities during its first term and discussed orientations and priorities for promoting Vietnam’s traditional martial arts internationally in the new period.
In another development, the World Championships and Junior Championships of Vietnam Vocotruyen is taking place in Italy from September 29 to October 5, featuring 378 events in forms and combat disciplines for senior and junior athletes. More than 500 coaches and athletes from around the world are taking part.
Vietnam has sent an 83-member delegation comprising officials, referees, coaches and athletes, with 40 athletes competing in various disciplines.
In the forms competition, athletes are taking part in compulsory routines, optional routines and choreographed sparring. Athletes under 17 can also compete in group events and choreographed sparring, while those aged 41 to 60 can enter optional routines and choreographed sparring.
