The event features six distances — 12km, 25km, 55km, 75km, 100km and 160km — catering to a wide range of participants, from trail-running newcomers to experienced and professional athletes.
Notably, Mu Cang Chai is also hosting the Asia Trail Master 2026 Championship Final over the 75km distance, bringing additional attention from trail runners in the region and beyond.
To ensure the race runs safely and smoothly, Mu Cang Chai commune has coordinated with organisers and relevant agencies to prepare the race routes and implement plans covering security, traffic management, logistics, rescue operations and medical care.
A total of 28 medical staff, including doctors and nurses, have been deployed at points along the routes to provide first aid and respond to emergencies during the races.
Giang A Tang, vice chairman of the Mu Cang Chai communal People’s Committee, said local authorities had worked with organisers and relevant forces to review preparations, particularly in areas with challenging terrain, to ensure the safety of runners.
With thousands of domestic and international participants, the two trail-running events provide an opportunity to promote the destination’s terraced rice fields, ethnic cultures and mountainous landscapes to visitors.
