VOV.VN - Firefighters of Vietnam’s southern Tay Ninh province have assisted their Cambodian counterparts in extinguishing a fire at a casino, rescuing four injured people trapped inside the building.

Accordingly, the fire occurred at 8:30 a.m. on November 3 on the seventh floor of the seven-storey casino building located in Trapeang Phlong commune of Ponhea Kraek district, Tbuong Khmum province.

The Cambodian firefighting and rescue force deployed three fire trucks to the scene in an attempt to stamp out the flame, but they failed and asked for assistance from the Tay Ninh police forces.

Receiving this information, the Tay Ninh Provincial Police Department dispatched 15 firefighters and three vehicles from the Tan Bien Border District Police to the scene.

As they reached the site, the fire had spanned about 80 square metres of the seventh floor of the building, while smoke appeared to be spreading to the other floors.

The Vietnamese firefighters promptly rescued four injured victims trapped on the fifth and sixth floors.

In total, it took the firefighters two hours to bring the blaze under control.

According to preliminary reports, the cause of the fire was due to an electrical fault on the seventh floor.
