Vietnam-Japan local cooperation forum to bring over 700 delegates to Hue
VOV.VN - More than 700 Vietnamese and Japanese delegates will gather in Hue on September 5 - 6 for the 2026 Vietnam-Japan Local Cooperation Forum, focusing on innovation, digital transformation, green development and cultural industries linked to heritage preservation.
The forum, to be organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with Hue City and the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, will bring together representatives of the two governments, ministries, sectors and localities, along with organisations, associations and businesses from both countries.
The programme will feature an opening ceremony and two thematic sessions on innovation, digital transformation, smart cities, and the development of cultural industries through heritage preservation. Meetings and networking activities will also provide opportunities for government agencies, organisations and businesses from the two countries to explore potential partnerships.
A highlight of the event will be the Hue-Japan Connectivity Conference, as well as a ceremony to exchange a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Hue City and Shizuoka Prefecture. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hue City People’s Committee are also scheduled to sign an Action Plan for 2026-2030.
Hue is expected to promote and sign additional cooperation agreements with a number of Japanese localities and organisations on the occasion.
Alongside discussions and signing ceremonies, the forum will also introduce exhibition spaces, a photo exhibition and displays of signature products from Vietnamese and Japanese localities, with 30 booths representing 45 organisations.
Delegates will have the opportunity to visit cultural and tourism sites and conduct field surveys at several industrial parks in Hue.
