The animals had been received by the park’s Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Development Centre in July after being voluntarily handed over by local residents.
They included elongated tortoises, impressed tortoises, stump-tailed macaques, clouded monitor lizards, pygmy slow lorises, giant Asian pond turtle, reticulated pythons, Sunda pangolins and long-tailed macaques. All are listed as protected species in Groups IB and IIB under Vietnamese regulations.
Many were weak, injured or exhausted when rescued, while some had lost part of their natural survival instincts.
Staff provided veterinary treatment, appropriate diets and rehabilitation to help the animals regain their wild behaviour and ability to survive independently.
Following health checks and monitoring, all 24 were deemed fit for release.
The release was supervised by local authorities and forest rangers to ensure compliance with regulations and the animals’ safety.
