The welcoming ceremony was attended by representatives from the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, Naval Region 3 Command, municipal Military Command, Border Guard Command, Da Nang Port Border Guard Command, Foreign Relations Office – Military Region 5 Command, the Department of External Relations (Ministry of Defence), the Navy, and other relevant agencies.
The year 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations. The US Navy visit to Da Nang helps reinforce the comprehensive strategic partnership established between the two countries in 2023. With its tourism, culture, economic potential, and hospitality, Da Nang is well-positioned to serve as a bridge for defence-security cooperation, cultural and sports exchanges, and experience-sharing between the two navies.
During the visit, the commanding officers met with leaders of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Military Region 5, and Naval Region 3, engaged in professional exchanges, held sports activities with Vietnamese naval officers, interacted with children at the Hope Village and students at the University of Foreign Language Studies-Da Nang University, and visited local cultural and tourism sites.
