VOV.VN - A senior Party leader has called for closer monitoring of developments on the ground and online, with timely action on complex and sensitive issues to help protect the Party’s ideological foundation, build social consensus and strengthen public trust.

Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat and head of the Central Steering Committee 35, made the request at a meeting on the Party’s ideological foundation in Hanoi on September 14.

The meeting reviewed work to protect the Party’s ideological foundation and counter erroneous and hostile views during the third quarter, while identifying key tasks for the fourth quarter of 2026.

Proactive monitoring of developments on the ground and online

During the third quarter, the Central Steering Committee 35 and its counterparts in localities focused on implementing their work programmes and proactively addressing complex and sensitive cases and issues of public concern.

Timely monitoring and handling of emerging issues contributed to protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, maintaining social consensus and strengthening public trust.

Entering the fourth quarter, the entire Party, people and armed forces are continuing to implement the goals and tasks set by the 14th National Party Congress, including important priorities in economic, cultural and social development and social welfare.

At the same time, developments in the world and the region, together with domestic realities, continue to create new challenges. This makes it necessary to proactively identify and anticipate issues that could affect public sentiment and social opinion, particularly complex and sensitive matters and emerging issues in cyberspace.

Timely action on complex and sensitive issues

Speaking at the meeting, Standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat Tran Cam Tu called on Party committees and organisations, particularly Steering Committee 35 bodies at all levels, to maintain a proactive approach, closely monitor developments both on the ground and in cyberspace, and demonstrate determination and resolve in leadership, direction and implementation.

The focus should be on promptly detecting, identifying and addressing complex and sensitive issues, while proactively countering erroneous and hostile views and avoiding passivity or surprise in dealing with emerging developments.

Alongside close monitoring of developments in society, efforts to protect the Party’s ideological foundation should continue to pay particular attention to cyberspace, where information spreads rapidly and can directly influence perceptions, public sentiment and social opinion.

The senior Party leader called on authorities at all levels to further strengthen their sense of responsibility and proactively carry out assigned tasks, ensuring that leadership, direction and implementation are conducted decisively and effectively.

These efforts will contribute to firmly protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, building social consensus and strengthening public trust, thereby supporting the successful implementation of the goals and tasks set out.

The Steering Committee 35 system was established following Politburo Resolution 35 dated October 22, 2018, which identified the protection of the Party’s ideological foundation and the countering of erroneous and hostile views as a key and regular task of the political system. The Central Steering Committee was established in January 2019, with corresponding committees set up at different levels to coordinate this work, particularly in cyberspace.
