VOV.VN - National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man and his spouse will pay official visits to the Republic of Korea and Mongolia from September 6 to 11, aiming to strengthen parliamentary ties and promote broader bilateral cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visits are being made at the invitation of Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Cho Jeong-sik and his spouse, and Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia Sandag Byambatsogt and his spouse.

The visits come as Vietnam-Republic of Korea relations continue to develop strongly across multiple areas, with the two countries having established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2022.

Vietnam and the Republic of Korea maintain regular high-level exchanges and cooperation through Party, Government and parliamentary channels.

Two-way trade reached US$89.5 billion in 2025, while the Republic of Korea is currently Vietnam’s largest foreign investor, with total registered investment capital reaching US$94.6 billion.

The two sides are working toward a target of US$150 billion in bilateral trade by 2030, with a greater focus on balanced trade.

Parliamentary ties have also been maintained through regular exchanges. In June 2026, National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man received RoK Ambassador Choi Young Sam and spoke highly of his contributions to promoting cooperation between the two parliaments and peoples.

Meanwhile, Vietnam and Mongolia established a comprehensive partnership in September 2024, opening a new chapter in their long-standing friendship.

The two countries have maintained exchanges of delegations, high-level contacts and cooperation across various areas. Bilateral trade exceeded US$155 million in 2025.

Most recently, on August 26, National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man received Mongolian Ambassador Ganbaatar Hulan and expressed his hope that the two countries would continue to deepen their relationship in a more substantive and comprehensive manner during the new period of development.

The official visits to the Republic of Korea and Mongolia are expected to further strengthen cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the two countries’ legislative bodies, while contributing to closer bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
