VOV.VN - The Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, in collaboration with the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and partners, organized an international consultation session for the Vietnam Private Sector Forum (VPSF) 2026 on July 31 in Singapore, as part of the ASEAN Conference and the ASEANext 2026 Forum.

The session under the theme "Vietnam's Growth Journey and Opportunities in Focus, featured the participation of representatives from management agencies, diplomatic missions, trade promotion organizations, financial institutions, technology conglomerates, infrastructure developers, and the international investment community

This marks the first time VPSF has expanded its consultation activities abroad to directly gather perspectives from the regional and global business community on Vietnam's policy environment, investment climate, and new growth drivers.

Opening the session, UOB Vietnam CEO Victor Ngo Vinh Tri noted that allocating a dedicated, in-depth session for Vietnam within the ASEAN Conference 2026 shows the growing interest of regional businesses and investors in the country's economic prospects.

Addressing the transition from a growth model reliant on cheap labor and cost advantages toward one driven by productivity, technology, innovation, and enterprise competitiveness,

Vu Ba Phu, Director-General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that opportunities in infrastructure, logistics, the digital economy, green energy, financial services, and high-tech industries require close coordination among management trade agencies, financial institutions, business associations, and the private sector.

Consequently, trade promotion must pivot from merely presenting potential to precisely matching needs, selecting suitable partners, and accompanying investors through project realization.

During the consultation, delegates reached a consensus on five key policy recommendations, including advancing institutional breakthroughs focused on stability, transparency, and predictability; accelerating the development of strategic and digital infrastructure; expanding public-private partnership markets; enhancing the technology absorption capacity of enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized ones; and developing a more competitive and flexible energy market to facilitate private investment in energy storage, renewables, power grids, and electricity trading mechanisms, alongside shifting from attracting isolated projects to building comprehensive investment ecosystems.

According to Tran Anh Dung, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Board of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, holding the consultation in Singapore broadened input from international investors, global corporations, and experts operating within the Vietnamese market.
