Technology to take centre stage at HCMC K-Brand Expo 2026
VOV.VN - Nearly 200 booths of enterprises from 18 key industrial cities in the Republic of Korea (RoK) will showcase products, technologies and solutions at HCMC K-Brand Expo 2026, to be held in Ho Chi Minh City from August 27-29.
The expo will feature a wide range of sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), digital healthcare, energy, food, cosmetics and household products, with more than 40% of the booths dedicated to technology and AI.
This marks the first time in the event's five-year history that technology has become the leading sector, reflecting growing cooperation between Vietnamese and Korean businesses in high-tech industries.
Over its four editions (2022–2025), the expo attracted more than 600 Korean startups and enterprises, facilitating over 5,020 business connections and resulting in approximately 800 memoranda of understanding.
More than 50 Korean startup and innovation support organisations also joined the event, helping to foster the startup ecosystem and strengthen business ties between the two countries.
The programme has also supported 40 startups in connecting with 17 domestic and international investment funds, creating opportunities to access capital and expand into new markets.
Pham Huynh Quang Hieu, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, noted that the HCMC K-Brand Expo 2026 is held as the Vietnam-RoK relationship enters a period of robust growth with numerous high-level cooperation agreements covering high-tech sectors, semiconductors, energy, and supply chains. The event serves as a concrete initiative to realise the cooperation commitments between the two countries by fostering business connections, investment, and trade.
In addition to the exhibition, the event will feature Vietnam-RoK business matching sessions, thematic seminars, the Innostar 2026 startup competition with 110 projects from 44 universities, and the Venture Star 2026 programme to connect 15 startups from both countries with investment funds and strategic partners.
