Nobel laureate, global experts to join Vietnam innovation and economic forums
VOV.VN - The Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) will hold two major international forums in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from late July to early August, expected to draw hundreds of scholars, policymakers, and business leaders.
The Vietnam Global Innovation Forum (VGIC 2026) will take place from July 29 to 30 at the Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB) in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme "Future Tech – Vietnam's Digital Leap."
The forum, organized by AVSE Global alongside the Global On-Chain Economy Alliance, SIHUB, and Startup Vietnam Foundation, will bring together around 100 innovators to step up cooperation in GovTech, Generative AI, Smart Manufacturing and Supply Chain 5.0, and Fintech.
Following VGIC, the Asian Meeting of the Econometric Society (AMES 2026) will run from July 31 to August 2 in Hanoi. Co-hosted by the Econometric Society, AVSE Global, and Thuongmai University, the conference is set to gather nearly 300 scholars from almost 40 countries and territories.
Key participants include Professor Lars Peter Hansen, recipient of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, alongside researchers from Harvard, MIT, Columbia, Cambridge, Princeton, University College London, National University of Singapore, the University of Tokyo, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund.
Discussions will focus on economics, finance, international trade, digital transformation, supply chains, geopolitics, and Vietnam's development within the global context.
