VOV.VN - The 11th International Conference on Accounting and Finance (ICOAF 2026) opened on July 11 in Da Nang, bringing together 100 domestic and international researchers to present and exchange studies on accounting, finance and banking with both academic and practical significance.

Jointly organised by the School of Economics under the University of Da Nang and partner institutions, the conference covers a broad range of topics, including accounting standards and financial reporting quality, auditing and corporate governance, corporate finance, financial markets, banking systems, sustainable finance, financial technology (FinTech), digital finance, and international financial integration.

In his opening remarks, Ho Ky Minh, vice chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, emphasised that the conference is one of the key academic events of Da Nang Economic, Finance and Technology Week 2026.

He described it as a forum for knowledge exchange in accounting, finance and banking, while also serving as a platform to strengthen cooperation among universities, research institutes, professional organizations, businesses and government agencies.

Ho pointed out that Da Nang is entering a new stage of development with the ambition of becoming an international financial centre and a regional hub for innovation, high technology, the digital economy and high-value services.

To achieve that goal, the city is prioritising science, technology, innovation and the development of a highly skilled workforce alongside infrastructure investment and institutional reforms, he said.

As Da Nang advances plans to develop an international financial centre, Minh expected that discussions at the conference would generate valuable policy recommendations, practical cooperation models and research projects with strong potential for implementation.

"The city hopes universities, research institutes and the business community will continue to work alongside local authorities in policymaking, financial market development, human resource training and building an innovation ecosystem," he noted.

A key highlight of ICOAF 2026 is a roundtable discussion on the development of Vietnam's International Financial Centre in Da Nang.
