Da Nang launches business lounge with RoK's Daegu
VOV.VN - The Da Nang - Daegu Business Lounge was launched on August 18 at the Da Nang Startup Support Center, establishing a new channel for science, technology, and innovation cooperation with the Republic of Korea (RoK).
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Quang Buu highlighted the facility as a significant milestone in bilateral relations between the two cities. He noted that forming international collaborative hubs is part of Da Nang’s strategy to expand its global innovation network.
The new lounge is designed to introduce representative technologies, products, and solutions from Daegu while serving as a bridge for businesses, research institutes, universities, and startup organizations from both localities. It aims to enhance connections, experience sharing, technology transfer, investment promotion, and market development.
Buu noted that Vietnam is entering a new stage of development centered on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, as outlined in Politburo Resolution No. 57. In line with this orientation, Da Nang is focusing on becoming an innovative city, building an open innovation ecosystem, connecting with major global technology hubs, and attracting international resources and enterprises to invest and operate locally.
Through this space, Da Nang expects to promote joint programs in pioneer sectors including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, digital technology, smart cities, smart manufacturing, digital transformation, and green technology. The initiative will allow RoK companies to gain deeper insights into the Vietnamese market while supporting local firms in integrating further into global value chains.
The city leader pledged that Da Nang will continue to foster a favorable investment environment, perfect its innovation ecosystem, and support international partners throughout their research, investment, and development activities.
During the event, business representatives from Da Nang and Daegu exchanged memorandums of understanding (MOUs) to facilitate technology transfer, market expansion, and investment opportunities for Vietnamese and RoK enterprises.
