CTW Electronics opens EV component plant in Hai Phong
VOV.VN -CTW Electronics Vietnam has officially launched its high-voltage wiring harness manufacturing plant for electric vehicles at the Cam Van Industrial Cluster in Hai Phong city, with a total investment of US$1 million.
The project, officially named CTW Vietnam No. 1 Plant, spans a leased area of 0.56 hectares in An Quang Commune. It has a design capacity of 50,000 products per year, focusing on the manufacturing and processing of high-voltage wiring harnesses for battery and power distribution systems in electric vehicles, alongside electric transportation parts.
The venture is backed by two Chinese investors: Hongkong CTW Electronics Company Limited, holding a 99% stake, and Changzhou CTW Electronics Company Limited, holding the remaining 1%. Zhang Dong serves as the General Director and legal representative.
Jacky Li, Chairman of Hongkong CTW Electronics, noted that this facility marks the company's first operational site in Vietnam, laying the groundwork for its expansion in electronic component manufacturing for partners in Vietnam, the US, and Europe.
Established in 2013, CTW supplies connectivity solutions for the automotive and global industries, serving original equipment manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Xiaopeng, Ideal, Dongfeng, SAIC, Chery, and Volvo, as well as Tier 1 suppliers including Valeo, FORVIA, and BorgWarner.
The new facility in Hai Phong will supply components to VinFast and other global automakers, contributing to local manufacturing capacity and expanding the domestic supply chain for the automotive industry.
