Austrian businesses upbeat about Vietnam’s huge market potential
VOV.VN - Austrian enterprises have expressed strong optimism regarding Vietnam's market potential during a working visit by Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang to the Austrian state of Vorarlberg.
During the September 29030 visit, Ambassador Hoang met with local leaders and leading businesses in Vorarlberg, Austria’s most economically dynamic region with advanced technologies and a growing presence of long-term investors in Vietnam.
At meetings with state parliament President Harald Sonderegger, both sides discussed expanding cooperation in economics, vocational training, particularly nursing, and technology. They highlighted the successful models of Austrian enterprises in Vietnam as a foundation to assist Vorarlberg’s small and medium-sized enterprises in exploring the market, production partners, and supply sources.
Meeting with Chamber of Economy President Karlheinz Kopf, the sides focused on vocational training models connecting educational institutions with businesses to match market demand.
The discussions laid the groundwork for an upcoming investment promotion delegation to Vietnam from October 6 to 9, which will target railway infrastructure, smart transport, urban technology, and maritime sectors in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hai Phong.
Ambassador Hoang also briefed local partners on Vietnam’s socio-economic development, reform trajectory, and development vision toward 2045 centered on science, technology, innovation, and high-quality human resources. He emphasized Vietnam's political stability and free trade network as favorable conditions for Austrian companies to expand investments.
During visits to leading local firms, including ropeway engineering giant Doppelmayr and prominent logistics operators, corporate leaders lauded Vietnam's business environment and workforce quality, pledging long-term investments.
The visit reinforced local-level diplomacy and investment connectivity between localities in Vietnam and Austria, paving the way for high-tech investment inflows towards the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027.
