30 Vietnamese enterprises join Russia's largest food expo to expand market share
VOV.VN - Thirty Vietnamese enterprises are introducing agricultural and food products at WorldFood Moscow 2026 in a bid to secure new partnerships at Russia's premier food exhibition.
Running from September 15 to 18 at the Crocus Expo Exhibition Center in Moscow, WorldFood Moscow 2026 is Russia's premier and most prestigious annual trade event for agriculture, food, and beverages, established in 1991.
This year, the Vietnamese delegation occupies a 400-square-meter pavilion, featuring key export items such as rice, coffee, peppercorns, cashews, confectionery, and processed foods. According to the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Viettrade) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this scale demonstrates the domestic business community's strong determination to maintain and expand its market share in Russia and the broader Eurasian region.
Speaking at the pavilion's inauguration, Viettrade Deputy Director Bui Quang Hung noted that the 35-year-old exhibition serves as an ideal networking hub for Vietnamese enterprises to connect with major Russian importers, distributors, and international partners.
Maksim Shilov, Director of WorldFood Moscow and representative of the ITE Group, expressed confidence that the event will further boost bilateral trade.
He praised the cooperative ties with Vietnamese partners and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation will continue to flourish and achieve new milestones in the years ahead.
Vietnam is currently Russia's largest trading partner within ASEAN. Viettrade noted that the effective implementation of the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (VN-EAEU FTA) alongside ongoing efforts to remove trade barriers has driven bilateral turnover. Vietnamese agricultural and fishery products such as coffee, cashews, pepper, rice, confectionery, and processed foods have steadily solidified their market position, meeting the diverse demands of Russian consumers and retail networks.
Bilateral economic ties received a further boost following the State visit to Russia by General Secretary of the Party Central Committee Central Committee and President To Lam from September 7 to 9, during which both nations set a target to elevate bilateral trade to US$15 billion, establishing a balanced and firm foundation for trade and investment in the time to come.
Customs data indicates that two-way trade expanded by an average of 10.8% annually between 2016 and 2024, rising from US$2.74 billion to US$4.58 billion, before reaching US$4.77 billion in 2025. During the seven month period of 2026, bilateral trade hit US$3.24 billion, a 12% increase year-on-year.
