Thai Nguyen to host international festival highlighting premier tea
VOV.VN -The Thai Nguyen International Tea Festival 2026 will take place from October 30 to November 7 under the theme "Thai Nguyen- Premier Tea", aiming to promote tea culture, connect international partners, and expand cooperation opportunities for the local tea industry.
At an international press conference in Hanoi on October 1, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen Province announced that the event coincides with the 195th founding anniversary of Thai Nguyen Province (November 4, 1831 -November 4, 2026).
The festival features a wide range of activities, including an international tea forum, an exhibition titled "Thai Nguyen 195 Years – Achievements in Integration and Development", an art parade, a tea street space, culinary and investment promotion displays, and guided tours of local tea-growing regions and craft villages.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang said that co-organizing the festival represented a key task in advancing development diplomacy and cultural diplomacy, noting that the ministry worked alongside the province to shape the program and elevate its international stature. She emphasized that the event's global significance extended beyond foreign visitor counts, focusing instead on enhancing cultural and human connections, promoting Vietnam's image, and smart, green, and sustainable agricultural production.
Nguyen Thi Loan, Vice Chairwoman of the Thai Nguyen People's Committee and head of the organizing board, affirmed that the event honors farmers, cooperatives, and enterprises dedicated to preserving and developing tea craftsmanship across generations. The province expects the festival to bridge heritage and development, linking tea culture with the tea economy.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for the evening of October 30 at Vo Nguyen Giap Square in Phan Dinh Phung Ward, Thai Nguyen City.
