Second Hanoi World Cultural Festival to bridge heritage and future
VOV.VN - The second Hanoi World Cultural Festival will take place from October 1 to 4 at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long under the theme "Converging Heritage, Shaping the Future," marking the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s admission to UNESCO.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition in 2025, this year’s event is expected to draw 50 countries, international organizations, and enterprises. The expanded festival features 45 cultural spaces, 35 culinary booths, and film screenings involving 18 nations. In addition, 19 countries will present traditional costumes, alongside performances by 20 international art troupes spanning music, arts, fashion, and interactive cultural experiences.
A key highlight of this year’s program is the "Creative Heritage & International Festival Games" zone, which merges historical values with modern technology. Organized in collaboration with Vietnamese enterprises, the area introduces video games inspired by Vietnamese history and culture, featuring cosplay performances and interactive LED displays.
The festival serves as a prominent cultural diplomacy highlight for 2026, while reinforcing Hanoi’s status as a UNESCO Creative City and a major global hub for cultural exchange, heritage preservation, and creative industries.
