Miss World chair returns to Vietnam for charity programme
VOV.VN - Chairwoman and CEO of the Miss World Organization Julia Morley’s presence in Vietnam has reflected the “Beauty With A Purpose” spirit that Miss World has championed for decades while helping spread a message of compassion, sharing and community responsibility.
Miss World Vietnam, in partnership with the Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Union, organised the “Happy Children’s Day” charity programme, continuing years of community outreach and support for those in need.
The programme was attended by Miss World Chairwoman Julia Morley, Miss Intercontinental 2022 Bao Ngoc and Mister World Vietnam Tuan Ngoc.
At the event, Morley said she was delighted to meet the children and had always believed they represent the future of every nation. She expressed hope that some of the children attending the programme would one day become a source of pride for Vietnam and help introduce the country and its people to the world. She also voiced hope that the upcoming Miss World activities in Vietnam would leave a positive impact on local communities and future generations.
During the programme, Morley joined representatives of Miss World Vietnam, Bao Ngoc and Tuan Ngoc in presenting scholarships and gifts to disadvantaged children and women who have continued striving to improve their lives despite difficult circumstances.
The visit also provided an opportunity for Morley to review preparations for upcoming Miss World activities in Vietnam.
She said she had recently visited and assessed several locations across the country as part of preparations for the 73rd edition of Miss World, which will mark the pageant’s 75th anniversary.
The competition is expected to attract more than 120 contestants from around the world for a nearly month-long programme spanning multiple provinces and cities across Vietnam. The final is set to take place in Ho Chi Minh City on September 5 and is expected to help promote Vietnam, its people and culture to people around the world.
