Michelin Guide Vietnam 2026 unveils 193 selected eateries in big cities
VOV.VN - Michelin Guide unveiled its 2026 selection for Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang at a ceremony held in Hanoi on June 4, recognising 193 dining establishments in the three cities.
This year’s edition features 11 one-Michelin-star restaurants, including two new additions, alongside 72 Bib Gourmand establishments and 110 Michelin Selected venues recognized for the quality of their cuisine.
Among the newly added establishments, seven are in Hanoi (one one-star restaurant, three Bib Gourmand recipients and three Michelin Selected venues), 11 in Ho Chi Minh City (one one-star restaurant, five Bib Gourmand recipients and five Michelin Selected venues), and four in Da Nang (three Bib Gourmand recipients and one Michelin Selected venue).
In a notable development, a restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City also joined the Michelin Green Star community for the first time, recognised for its strong commitment to zero-waste operations and plant-based cuisine.
Gwendal Poullennec, international director of Michelin Guide, said Vietnam continues to stand out for its rich culinary identity at a time when Michelin is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Michelin Star globally.
Two restaurants earned their first Michelin Star this year. Hanoi-based ONVIT, Vietnam's first contemporary Korean restaurant to earn a Michelin Star, stands out for its tasting menu created by Chef Joon Hyuk-chi, blending Korean culinary heritage with premium Vietnamese ingredients.
Upstairs in Ho Chi Minh City, an intimate four-table restaurant located above a wine bar, showcases modern Vietnamese cuisine under the direction of Chef Hiep Truong, drawing inspiration from the flavors and traditions of Central Vietnam.
The two newcomers join the ranks of previously recognised one-star restaurants: Gia, Hibana by Koki and Tam Vi in Hanoi; Long Trieu, Anan Saigon, Akuna, CieL and Coco Dining in Ho Chi Minh City; and La Maison 1888 in Da Nang.
Michelin Guide, published by the French tire manufacturer Michelin, is widely regarded as the world's most prestigious restaurant-rating system. Often described as the “Oscars of the culinary world,” its arrival in Vietnam in June 2023 brought renewed international attention to the country's vibrant dining scene.
