Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull speaks at the APEC CEO Summit
The PM is keen to urge world leaders at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit to embrace free trade and turn their backs on protectionism.

He will also be pushing for an 11-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) to be sealed at APEC, after the US pulled out of the pact.

The TPP was signed in February 2016 by Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the US and Vietnam, covering around 40% of the global economy before the US’s withdrawal earlier this year.
